Fluorite Crystals

Gorgeous light carrier… It didn’t take long for me to realize this was my favorite crystal out my collection. While I don’t choose to participate in the practices associated with crystals, I do believe in the properties they offer. God placed them here for a reason. I enjoy walking with them from room to room to …

Just a Purple Kind of Day

Nature Walk I walk with my friend Lisa a few times a week and on this day we decided it was time for a change of scenery. We drove to one of my happy places…Brookside Gardens. I recently saw this stunning Lilac vine on my way home from my parents house and was on a …

The Maryland Side

Our Happy Place If you’re not familiar with these pictures by now, this is one of our favorite places to go…Great Falls. Mother Nature gave us a spectacular day and we choose to make the best of it by going somewhere familiar we knew we would enjoy. I think we’ve gone here every year since …

Earth Crystals

My Crystal Collection I’ve been fascinate by crystals since I was a little girl when my parents bought me my very own collection and rock tumbler. I’ve continued to collect here an there, but recently fell back in love with them. Can you imagine playing outside  as a child, finding one of these gorgeous minerals? …

Fall in my Neighborhood

Well…the vibrant colors of fall in my neighborhood are coming to an end. They never seem to last long enough. I’m reminded it’s the start of my favorite time of year…so I’m thankful to have seen another fall season and excited for what it has to bring in  years to come. Enjoy!

October Colors

Fall Garden My parents showed off this year with their elaborate garden. Every time I went to visit the plants were taller and even more vibrant. I believe the plants are 3 feet now. The pictures below do it no justice. Sometimes I sit in my car or on the front porch to admire the …

A Day Off

We decided to take a break from all the wedding planning for our big day which is coming up next month might I add. After this weekend literally don’t have another free one until mid July. It was nice to have a few days where nothing was pressing so we took full advantage of it. …

Kilgore Falls

This day started out at Rock State Park in Jarrettsville, MD…about an hour and twenty minutes from the house. When we arrived, we began our walk through one of the trails. We were looking for the water falls our google search revealed. We realized not even 2 minutes in that we were far from where we …

Scott’s Scove

On this day, I was looking for nature to photograph, but I wanted something near by. I was told by a good friend about a place just up the road called Scott’s Cove. She said there was plenty of water and that it was a large, quiet, open space. That was all I needed to …

First Spring Weekend

Gravelly Point Park The weather was in the 70’s, Spring had finally sprung and I was itching to get outside. It was a dreary windy day. The sun decided not to join us and it was threatening to rain later on in the day. We didn’t let that stop us from enjoying ourselves. Brandon had …

Get Lost on Purpose

Lost Fall Files I stumbled upon these photos while browsing through some pics on my computer. No clue how I missed these. The first time we came across this hidden treasure we were driving around…you know, getting lost on purpose like we often do and ended up here at Triadelphia Reservoir which derives from the …

Meridian Hill Park

Pardon the clarity of the pictures in this blog. They were taken with my old camera. I was proud of them at the time they were taken, but just like anything else, as you progress you look back and feel otherwise…Lol! Welcome to Median Hill Park! This place has a lot of character. I visited …

Outside My Window

What more can  you ask for than to wake up with the sun penetrating through the leaves every morning to reveal the potent colors of fall. Right in my own back yard! Always puts a smile on my face!

Lotus and Lily

Aquatic Gardens I stumbled upon this hidden wonder on a weekend looking for something to photograph. I would say the best time to visit is spring if you really want to see all they have to offer in full bloom. According to their website, fall looks nice too! It’s one of the smaller parks I’ve …

City of Seven Hills

Lynchburg, Virginia What a great place to visit! Though I didn’t get to stay  as long as desired, I was able to enjoy the spectacular landscapes, and the nice people. I can’t wait for my next visit to be able to indulge in the history and the culture of this city. Enjoy!       Save

Autumn Falls

Great Falls I’m sad to say I’ve lived in the state of Maryland my entire life and never took the opportunity to visit either side of Great Falls until the past few years. I honestly still can’t figure out which side is my favorite. I like them both for their own uniqueness. I have not had the …

Patuxent Research Refuge

I entered this beautiful place of peace and serenity from the Laurel, MD side where you will find  the North Tract trails. You can learn more about this 12,800 acres of land by going to the links I’ve posted. President Franklin D. Roosevelt established Patuxent Research Refuge as the nation’s first wildlife research station through …

Happy Fall to you!

My neck of the woods… I thought if I posted some of my fall pictures from previous years, it would help fall to remember what it’s suppose to look like. Last year was a wash, the leaves turned brown and fell to the ground. It’s looking pretty similar here in Maryland so far this year, …

Colors of the Sun

The warmth of the rays as the sun begins to rise and takes it’s place in the sky is something everyone should have the opportunity to experience. The very first thing I do in the morning is open my blinds to let the light in. As the light touches my skin as it shines through my window, I am rejuvenated …
